What we do

Three ways Pilon takes risk off your project.

The value is not labor and iron. It's what seventy years in the field does to preparation, sequencing, and the judgment calls that decide whether a job stays on schedule.

01

Sitework & Excavation

Excavation work that respects sequencing, access, drainage, utilities, and the realities that affect schedule and cost once a project is in motion.

  • Site preparation & earthwork
  • Utility & infrastructure support
  • Heavy field execution
02

Hydro Excavation

A dedicated hydrovac truck with an experienced operator. When mechanical digging creates too much risk around buried utilities, expose the line before the expensive mistake happens.

  • Utility daylighting & potholing
  • Slot trenching in tight corridors
  • Digging near sensitive infrastructure
03

Site Development

Civil sitework for New York's next generation of large-scale projects — preparing ground for the data-center and energy buildout reshaping the region.

  • Earthwork & mass grading
  • Site utilities · stormwater & erosion control
  • Access roads, demolition & clearing
Why Pilon

Seven decades in the ground doesn't decorate the story. It shows up in the work.

A contractor that has been doing this work since the 1950s has earned something that cannot be downloaded: hard-won judgment about when to slow down, how to read conditions before they become problems, and what steady accountability looks like on a job site.

Pilon brings that to every project. It shows up in how we coordinate, how we communicate, and how the crew carries itself on site every day — municipal and public-sector work, private and commercial ground, and the sensitive digs where experience is the difference.

The standing rule on every Pilon site: if the job is not safe to do the way it is currently set up, it does not get done that way. A stopped job is recoverable. An injury is not.

How we run

What owners get besides iron.

Safety that stays operational

Not a binder on a shelf. Hazard awareness before work starts, locates verified before digging, near-misses reported because they prevent the next incident.

Communication you can build on

Strong communication, safety awareness, and disciplined operations keep the job credible from start to finish — for the owner, the engineer, and the inspector.

Pride in the finished result

Work shaped by experience in the field, not theory on paper. Clean execution, accountability, and dependable follow-through stay central.
